All over the world, teachers and students are reporting skyrocketing rates of misogyny associated with the influence of Andrew Tate and other male supremacist figures. A recent study has found teachers are dealing with issues like students writing in graphic detail how sexual assault victims deserve it. Nearly three years since Canadian media first addressed the dangers of these toxic influencers, misogyny in schools and among youth has only gotten worse.

This is an epidemic of violence and harassment towards women, girls, and 2SLGBTQ+ persons.

A Threat to Our Schools

Male supremacy promotes violence against women, girls, and trans people. Influencers like Andrew Tate and Sneako are telling impressionable youth that brutal violence—including beating and strangulation—is justified against women.

Male supremacy is making schools less safe. Numerous teachers have linked Tate’s influence on their male students to those students engaging in misogynistic harassment and assault at school. A 2023 study out of the United Kingdom found that 83% of boys aged 13-15 are familiar with Andrew Tate, while one in six boys (17%) aged six-15 view Tate favourably.

Male supremacy is more than the manosphere. In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s—a man found liable for rape—re-election as President of the United States, neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes’ “Your body, my choice” tweet went viral and was used to harass young girls in classrooms across the country.

Male supremacy intersects with other forms of hate. A 2020 study in the United Kingdom found that young men who hold anti-feminist beliefs were more likely to also hold racist and antisemitic beliefs, with 40% of respondents who believe feminism has gone too far, also endorsing Holocaust denialism and nearly a quarter believing that immigration had made the UK worse.

Help Us Tell Federal and Provincial Governments It’s Time for Action

Teachers and school professionals are under-resourced and overextended across the country, but they’re trying their best to address the violence and harassment that male supremacy is bringing to their classrooms. That’s why we’re calling on decisionmakers to take concrete steps to make schools safer for girls, women, and 2SLGBTQ+ persons.

Sign the petition to join us in calling on the Canadian and provincial governments to:

  • Issue statements to recognize the seriousness of this issue and which make commitments to meaningfully address the rise in misogyny and male supremacy in schools for the 2025-2026 school year
  • Fund and ensure participation in research about the impact of misogyny and male supremacy on school staff and students who are women and girls, trans, and non-binary
  • Provide funding for trauma-informed counselling made available to targets of male supremacist and other hate-motivated harassment and abuse in schools
  • Work in consultation with international peers in education policy about what steps other nations are taking to address male supremacy, and implement best practices in Canada
  • Make a commitment to promote social and emotional learning and comprehensive sex and relationship education, to prevent the grooming and coercive behaviours promoted by male supremacy

We’re going to send this petition to every provincial education minister in Canada, as well as the federal Minister for Women and Gender Equality, and the Secretary of State for Children and Youth.

Add your name to join us in calling for immediate, meaningful action on male supremacy in schools.
