The labour movement has long been a key player in the fight against hate, and we are proud to have strong partnerships with unions across Canada. This workshop is intended to respond to the needs we have heard from workers and union leaders across the country, bolstering their ability to confront and prevent hate movement activity within their own spaces and communities.
This workshop provides workers in all industries with the tools they need to navigate expressions and instances of hate in the workplace, union, and labour movement at large.
Special attention is given to the role of conspiracy theories (which often prey upon working class concerns) and their relationship with hate, and how unions and workers can identify and intervene before these ideas gain traction.
Our workshops are intended to complement—not replace—anti-racist education.
