A former Rebel News host argued that “xenophobic nationalism” would be better for the United States.
The exchange took place in a video titled “20 Trump Supporters Take on 1 Progressive,” produced by Jubilee as part of its Surrounded series—in which a guest debates one-on-one with a series of people who hold different views.
This episode features Sam Seder, an actor, political commentator and host of his own YouTube program, The Majority Report.
Charged with making a claim and then defending his position against his opponents, the other participants have a set time to argue with Seder—or can be forced to give up the chair if 11 of the other participants vote them off.
Shortly after the release of the debate, the full video and several clips were shared extensively online. This includes footage from around the midway point of the show, when Sarah Stock takes the seat.
“I actually think that this liberal world order needs to be thrown away completely and I think Christian Nationalism would be a good alternative,” she says.
She was responding to Seder’s claim that “unless you are a billionaire, religious fundamentalist, or a xenophobic nationalist, voting for Trump was a mistake.”
Most Christians are not Christian nationalists. Broadly speaking, Christian nationalism is the belief that Canada was founded on Christian values, that these Christian values are superior, and that laws and government should operate based on those values.
Christian nationalism is most commonly an ultra-conservative position, which is why it overlaps easily with far-right movements. Many Christian nationalists oppose equal rights for other religions, reproductive rights, and 2SLGBTQ+ rights.
Stock continues, “I think what we’re seeing right now is a culture of death. This is the most suicidal generation ever. We have millions of children dying of abortion. People aren’t even reproducing.”
When asked if she felt people should be mandated to have children, Stock responded “No, I don’t think we need to mandate, we should just stop killing their kids.”
Saying she wishes to “bring back the family unit,” Stock also added she does not support divorce.
“It would be better for society, it would be better for everyone, " Stock said. Immediately after, unprompted, she changed the topic of conversation.
“Same with xenophobic nationalism, like what’s the problem with xenophobic nationalism, don’t you think it would be better for Americans in general? We should have a coherent culture. Everyone should be of the same culture, we should have assimilation.”
Seder responded, asking “Do you get to choose what the culture is?”
“We already have a dominant culture based on Christian European values and identity. It's rooted in European identity.”
While Seder argues back the topic switches to Trump and if he is actually a Christian Nationalist. Stock refers to the president as a “Democrat from 15 years ago on social issues.”
Asked if Trump is “not xenophobic enough for you?,” Stock responds, “no, he’s trying to import a bunch of H1Bs. Are you kidding?”
H1B visas are a nonimmigrant visa that allows employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in the United States for occupations that require specialized knowledge and at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
Taking Stock
Formerly employed by Canada’s Rebel News, Stock’s X account describes her as “Real and straight in a world that’s fake and gay” and as a journalist for the sites Vigilant News and Slightly Offensive.
Her work for Rebel Media as a video correspondent has included asking Americans if they want Canada as the “51st state,” and covering a “Library board hearing on kids' book promoting transgenderism.” While the last video she made for the company was two months ago, the bulk of her content for Rebel News was released last fall.
Her biography for Rebel describes her as a "formerly Ontario-based, Canadian-American” who “joined Rebel News in 2022 where she worked part-time until 2024."
Her current products consist of writing short articles and holding vox pop interviews—random on-the-street interviews—with titles like “Trump Was Right the First Time: Women SHOULD be Punished for Having Abortions” and “Should we CANCEL Black History Month?”
After the release of the Jubilee video, Slightly Offensive released an article titled, “In Defense of "Xenophobic Nationalism" - Sarah Stock HUMILIATES Woke Podcaster Sam Seder.”
Stock also continued to elaborate on her statements during her appearance on the social media platform X.
“The fact that minority cultures exist in America doesn’t mean that American culture is non-existent,” she wrote. “I don’t know what my ethnic makeup is, but I know that my ancestors have been in America for hundreds of years and many Americans can relate to that.”
